Mckenna Grace Shares Surprising Way Stevie Nicks Inspired Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping
Mason Thames Reveals “Favorite” Factor About Working With Girlfriend Mckenna Grace
Mckenna Grace isn’t ‘fraid of changes.
In fact, the Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping star revealed that much of her character Maysilee Donner’s costumes were heavily inspired by Fleetwood Mac singer Stevie Nicks’ iconic wardrobe.
“Each of the Hunger Games have such a specific time period for fashion,” Grace exclusively told E! News at the Elegance is Authority: The Story, Style, and Power of Panem event in Paris Oct. 7. “Sunrise on the Reaping, at least [on] all the mood boards, there was Stevie Nicks. It was very ’60s, ’70s-inspired.”
While the prequel Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes was influenced by the 1950s style, Grace said the fashion in original movies—which starred Jennifer Lawrence, Liam Hemsworth and Josh Hutcherson—were “more modern” to reflect contemporary times.
“It’s cool because you’re not only seeing younger versions of these characters,” the 20-year-old continued, “but what Panem and the Districts would have looked like at that time period.”
