Miles Teller Blames “One Really Important Person” On ‘Fantastic Four’ For “F***ing It All Up”

One decade and a new Mr. Fantastic later, Miles Teller is looking back at his brief Marvel stint in 2015’s Fantastic Four.

The Emmy nominee recalled how “one really important person” on the Josh Trank-helmed 20th Century Fox pic “f***ed it all up” with the final edit, which grossed $167M worldwide on a $120M budget, the lowest of any Fantastic Four adaptation.

“You saw the movie, right? Your eyes were working during that time?” he quipped on SiriusXM’s Radio Andy. “I think it’s unfortunate because so many people worked so hard on that movie. And, honestly, maybe there was one really important person who kind of f***ed it all up.”

Explaining that he wanted a superhero film on his resume to be “taken seriously as a leading man” at the time, Teller added, “And that was our chance. And the casting, I thought was spectacular. I love all those actors.”

After seeing final version, Teller recalled, “I remember talking to one of the studio heads, and I was like, ‘I think we’re in trouble.’”

This year’s The Fantastic Four: First Steps proved to be the highest grossing adaptation of the comic book, surpassing $521M worldwide.
