MrBeast responds to question about how much he makes

MrBeast responded to a question posed to him on social media about how much he makes, sharing that “we do 10s million in revenue a month now,” but added that it’s not all profit.

Newsweek has reached out to MrBeast via email for comment outside of regular working hours.

Why It Matters

MrBeast, aka Jimmy Donaldson, is the most popular YouTuber in the world, with 392 million subscribers on the platform as of press time. His content often involves big-budget, elaborate stunts and charitable acts; his most recent video, titled “Would You Risk Drowning for $500,000?” has been viewed 104 million times as of reporting.

The 2024 U.S. average monthly salary was around $5,000, according to a report from the Bureau of Labor and Statistics.

What To Know

In a post on X, MrBeast, who recently celebrated his 27th birthday, wrote that he had “just had a dream,” about a time when his “mom’s mini van broke down 10 years ago.”

“She was stressing out about how to afford the repairs,” he wrote. “Back then I was making like $50 a month off YouTube.”

“How the hell did I end up the biggest YouTube channel lol,” he added.

A person on X then responded to this, asking MrBeast how much he makes per month, to which he responded, “We do 10s of million in revenue a month now.”

He added that this is not all profit as he invests “heavily” into content and his chocolate business is focused on “ethical sourcing.”

Beyond his viral content, MrBeast has launched multiple business ventures, including the virtual fast food chain Beast Burgers and the chocolate brand Feastables and Lunchly, a “healthier” alternative to Lunchables.

He is also working on a novel with the author James Patterson. The book will center on an extreme global contest, where 100 players will compete to prove their leadership skills through surviving life-threatening tests in dangerous locations around the world.

Set to be released in 2026 by the publisher HarperCollins, the novel will have a global release in 15 languages. Reports of a bidding war for the project had figures in the eight-figure range, but HarperCollins has not disclosed details of the deal.

What People Are Saying

MrBeast on X: “We do 10s of million in revenue a month now but Feastables is focused on ethical sourcing and has a lot of plans to help our farmers and I reinvest heavily into content so it’s obviously not all profit.”

What Happens Next

Forbes reported in 2022 that MrBeast was worth $500 million, bringing $54 million annually. He could become the world’s first-ever YouTube billionaire.
