Neil Marshall & Charlotte Kirk Reteam On Thriller ‘The Spiral Down’

EXCLUSIVE: Actress Charlotte Kirk (Duchess) is reuniting with writer Neil Marshall (The Descent) for a fifth time on psychological thriller The Spiral Down.

Marshall, Kirk and Karlos Ways (Christmas & Chaos) will produce with Kirk producing for Primal Empire Studios. Director will be Aaron Mirtes (Whiskey Run) with cameras set to roll in Kentucky, U.S. next month.

In the privately-backed feature, “a serial killer obsessed with perfection kidnaps Mary Doyle (Kirk), but as detectives close in, they discover that Mary is far from a victim. She is a dangerous escapee from a psychiatric institution with a violent past of her own. After killing her captor and disappearing without a trace, the investigation is turned on its head, leaving law enforcement hunting an even greater threat.”

Additional casting is in process. Kirk previously collaborated with Marshall on movies The Reckoning, The Lair, Duchess and most recently Compulsion.

Kirk can next be seen in horror film The Possession of Gladstone Manor opposite Caylee Cowan, Jesse Metcalfe and Lin Shaye, the horror comedy Catnip with Jake Busey, and the horror-thriller, The Last Bride. She also has the rom-com Christmas and Chaos starring Jason Isaacs and the suspense thriller, Night Driver, starring Josh Lucas.
