Police: 1 dead, 1 injured in Taylor stabbing
AUSTIN (KXAN) — The Taylor Police Department said it was investigating a Tuesday night homicide.
According to police, around 11:30 p.m., officers responded to Kings Canyon Drive related to an assault.
At the scene, police found a victim of a knife attack, who was later identified as 22-year-old Ashley Elizabeth McMicken.
Police said McMicken was not responding, and after attempting life-saving measures, she was pronounced dead after suffering multiple stab wounds.
Police said a second stabbing victim was treated for non-life-threatening wounds.
TPD identified the suspect in the investigation as 22-year-old Thomas Michael Flinders, of Jarrell. Police said Flinders left the scene before officers arrived; however, he was later found at his home in Jarrell and arrested on a first-degree murder charge.
