AUSTIN (KXAN) — Temperatures across Central Texas are nearing or surpassing record highs this Sunday afternoon under clear skies. Overnight, temperatures will remain mild, with lows in the mid to upper 50s in the Austin area and slightly cooler conditions expected in the Hill Country. Clouds will increase late in the night, mainly east of I-35, bringing the possibility of morning fog or mist for portions of our eastern counties.
By Monday, the morning fog will dissipate by noon, followed by decreasing clouds in the afternoon. Highs will climb to the low to mid 80s in Austin, with slightly warmer temperatures west of I-35.
Looking ahead, several days this week could bring record-breaking high temperatures. Expect highs in the 80s through next weekend, accompanied by southerly winds. The pattern will be consistent, with morning clouds giving way to afternoon sunshine and above-normal temperatures.

No rain is expected through the week and into the weekend.
