Rosie O’Donnell Performs “I Am Woman” With Epstein Survivors
Following her late-night stint, Rosie O’Donnell is continuing to put Donald Trump on blast, this time with help from a few friends.
On Thursday, the 12x Emmy winner shared a video of herself performing Helen Reddy’s 1972 feminist anthem “I Am Woman” with survivors of Jeffrey Epstein‘s sex-trafficking ring, calling out Trump’s association with the late child sex offender.
“After the corrupt AG (Trump’s former personal lawyer) implied that he did not believe men accused of sex abuse would be charged as a result of the Epstein files – despite mountains of evidence,” she captioned the video. “I called some Epstein survivors asked them to sing with me, a powerful Helen Reddy song that taught me at 10 years old to use my voice.”
O’Donnell continued, “Show ur support for abuse survivors – Brave enough to speak out – ‘Yes I am wise – but it’s wisdom born of pain…’ repost – duet – make ur own video sing I AM WOMAN.”
The comedian was joined by Andrea Sterling, Sharlene Rochard, Lara Blume McGee, Jena-lisa Jones, Wendy Pesante, Lisa Phillips, Marina Lacerda and Chauntae Davies for the performance.
“I know it’s been very hard for you, and with very little support, and I’m sorry that our country’s so fucked up,” O’Donnell told them. “But this is what we have to live through. Because you are all heroes, and you’re going to change how the world deals with child sex abuse.”
O’Donnell’s latest musical performance comes after she serenaded Trump with a scathing take on the Irish folk song “Danny Boy”, urging him to resign, as she wrapped her guest hosting gig on Jimmy Kimmel Live.
Following a judge’s dismissal of Trump’s $10B lawsuit against The Wall Street Journal over its reporting of a birthday letter he allegedly wrote to Epstein, the twice-impeached president filed an amended suit in May. Trump has denied he wrote the letter and maintained his innocence in the Epstein case.
