‘Saturday Night Live’ Goes With A Domingo Reprise For Cold Open Featuring Sabrina Carpenter

Saturday Night Live skipped major news events this week and went with a Domingo cold open, this time with Sabrina Carpenter‘s spoof of Taylor Swift’s “The Fate of Ophelia.”

The sketch centers on Kelsey (Chloe Fineman), whose affair with Domingo (Marcello Hernandez) is revealed to her husband, Matt (Andrew Dismukes), via a group of off-key girl friends. In the fourth Domingo sketch since it was introduced last year, Matt is celebrating his 30th birthday, and Kelsey has a surprise for him — her best friends. They sing their rendition of Swift’s “Ophelia” as well as Lady Gaga’s “Abracadabra,” revealing what they did on a recent trip to Nashville, before Domingo arrives.

“Kelsey, the night we spent together in Nashville was anything but ordinary,” he said, before doing his own solo.

“First of all, this is not in any of your vocal ranges,” Matt interrupts.

Carpenter, who also was hosting the show and appearing as a musical guest, appeared in a Domingo sketch on the SNL 50th anniversary special in February. There’s a good reason SNL has returned to Domingo: The first sketch generated more than 20 million views on YouTube.
