Scott Bryce, As the World Turns Star, Dead at 68 After “Hardest” Cancer Battle

Scott Bryce’s loved ones are honoring his journey.

The family of the actor—best known for his role as Craig Montgomery on As The World Turns—shared the news that Bryce died on July 12 following a battle with cancer. He was 68.

“God called my dad home today,” his son Jackson Bryce wrote on Instagram. “What began as stage three esophageal cancer eventually spread and became brain tumors that took his life away from him.”

But despite the challenges, Bryce’s son noted the strength with which his dad battled his disease.

“Through radiation, chemo and immunotherapy, and every moment of pain, I watched my dad face it all with pride and courage, and an unshakable belief that somehow, everything would work out and he would win,” he continued. “May his strength and relentless belief forever live within me. He fought the hardest and most honorable fight I have ever witnessed.”

But as Jackson looks to the future, he is taking comfort in the legacy his dad has left behind. Or, as he put it, that his dad “lived a life worth celebrating.”
