‘Shahs of Sunset’ alum Reza Farahan says ‘The Valley: Persian Style’ will be different than the “sweet caucasian version” Of ‘The Valley’
If you think The Valley: Persian Style will be anything like The Valley starring Vanderpump Rules alum, think again.
Reza Farahan, Golnesa “GG” Gharachedaghi, and Mercedes “MJ” Javid stopped to talk to Decider in the BravoCon press room on Saturday about the highly anticipated Shahs of Sunset spinoff series.
“Oh, girl!” Farahan said when asked how their show will differ from the OG Valley, which stars Vanderpump Rules alum Kristen Doute and Brittany Cartwright.
“Bring thousands of years of history and culture and passion and fire. You’re getting the very sweet caucasian version, and the range is like this,” he continued, putting his hands close together.
“No disrespect to The Valley regular style. But The Valley: Persian Style? Bam!” Farahan exclaimed as he jumped back and spread his arms out. “The range is like this, bro!”
Shahs of Sunset aired for nine seasons on Bravo between 2012 and 2021, and followed a group of young Persian-American friends as they navigated their lives in Los Angeles.
While it’s been a handful of years since Shahs of Sunset went off the air, OG stars Farahan, Gharachedaghi, and Javid are all slated to return to Bravo for The Valley: Persian Style, which will also star Farahan’s husband Adam Neely, Javid’s estranged husband Tommy Feight, Tanin Nikpey and Greg Haroutunian, Sky Asakari and Bamshad Akbar, Natasha and Amir Boroumand, and Reza Jackson, per Deadline.
The spinoff is coming just about two years after The Valley—which follows the Vanderpump Rules alum into the next stage of their lives—first premiered on the network. An exclusive sneak peek into the upcoming series was played ahead of The Valley’s panel at BravoCon on Friday (Nov. 14), and the trailer promised that while the OG stars might have a new zip code and new responsibilities, they are still the same dramatic bunch that Bravoholics grew to know and love over the years.
The Valley: Persian Style premieres on Jan. 8 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on Bravo.
