Tate McRae Perfume TATE 01: Where to Buy, Price, Notes and Ulta Release Date

Tate McRae has launched a fragrance called TATE 01, her first signature scent, with sales beginning on Thursday, Oct. 1. The eau de parfum is now available via the Tate by TM website, and Ulta Beauty will start selling it online on Oct. 16 and in its stores across the country on Oct. 25. The price begins at $30 and goes up to $82.

McRae designed the fragrance to remain close to the skin rather than occupy a room, and she created it in collaboration with Adriana Medina and Antoine Maisondieu, who are master perfumers at Scent Beauty and Givaudan.

Where is TATE 01 available for purchase at the moment?

At the moment, the only place where one can buy TATE 01 is Tate by TM, the fragrance brand that was launched under McRae’s name. Customers have the choice of sizes ranging from 10ml to 100ml, enabling fans to try out a smaller bottle before deciding on purchasing the full size.

Ulta Beauty is the exclusive U.S. retail partner, so the online launch on Oct. 16 and the in-store rollout on Oct. 25 will mark the first time the perfume is available at a major retailer.

What is the cost of TATE 01?

The 10ml bottle is priced at $30 while the 100ml bottle is $82; this pricing information was confirmed in the launch announcement by Scent Beauty and in McRae’s interview with PEOPLE.

TATE 01 is marketed as an eau de parfum, not as a body mist or a lighter type of fragrance. Its smaller size offers new customers a more affordable option.

What Does TATE 01 Smell Like?

The scent begins with sparkling bergamot and airy clary sage before moving on to a heart made up of luminous white florals.

Warm amber and creamy tonka bean become apparent as the fragrance settles, with sandalwood and softer woods forming the base note, and the overall impression is that it is warm, soft, and woody.

A major component is ISO E Super, a synthetic fragrance ingredient famous for having a smooth, woody aroma. The formula is constructed in such a way that it interacts with the individual’s skin chemistry, enabling the smell to evolve in different ways from person to person.

McRae describes TATE 01 as a “second-skin” fragrance and states that she wears it while rehearsing since it gets warmer when she moves.

What prompted Tate McRae to create a fragrance such as this?

She has stated that she wanted a perfume which she could wear every day, not one that merely bore her name; before settling on the final formula, she tried out various combinations of scents and describes the result as being addictive and different for each person who wears it.

The launch reflects the same concept: the campaign and visual identity draw on the minimalist glamour associated with 1990s supermodel culture, since the product is based on restraint rather than on volume.

He has also played a close role in the creative direction, from the idea for the scent to the packaging and the campaign.

What does TATE 01 mean for McRae’s brand?

TATE 01 is the first fragrance to be launched by McRae and marks the beginning of her beauty line bearing her name. It expands the brand’s range beyond music and live performances at a time when a great many artists are entering the fragrance market.

The Ulta partnership will actually be the true test since promoting the perfume via her own website allows her to reach her existing fanbase, whereas a nationwide retail launch exposes the perfume to shoppers who may know the singer only to a limited extent.

At the moment, fans have more than two weeks until Tate 01 appears on Ulta’s online store on October 16. People who would like to sample it before that date can order it directly from Tate by TM, since all three prices, from the $30 -10ml to the $82 -100ml, are available today.
