Taylor Swift To Perform At Academy Museum Gala This Month In L.A.
The Academy Museum of Motion Pictures said Thursday that it has nabbed Taylor Swift to perform at its sixth annual Academy Museum Gala, the glitzy must-stop on the Hollywood social circuit that acts as a main fundraiser for the musuem.
The 2026 gala is set for October 17, with filmmaker-composer John Carpenter, Colman Domingo and Charlize Theron set as this year’s honorees.
Swift is coming off releasing four new songs added to her record-breaking The Life of a Showgirl album that was the fastest-selling album of all time when it debuted in October 2025, spending 13 weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 charts. The first of those four new tracks, “Patient Zero,” became Spotify’s most-streamed song by a female artist in a single day in 2026 so far. Swift has four of the Top 5 singles on the Hot 100 right now and The Life of a Showgirl is the No. 1 album
Swift recently wrote and recorded the original end-credit song “I Knew It, I Knew You” for Toy Story 5. She also has written, co-written or contributed original songs for several other major film soundtracks and documentaries, including “Carolina” (Where the Crawdads Sing, 2022), “Only the Young” (Miss Americana, 2020, “Beautiful Ghosts” (Cats, 2019), among many others.
“Taylor is an extraordinary talent whose work resonates around the world,” said Amy Homma, Director and President of the Academy Museum and Academy Collection. “We are thrilled to welcome her to this year’s gala and look forward to her performance to close a wonderful evening of honoring three extraordinary filmmakers and supporting the Academy Museum’s mission to celebrate and preserve cinema.”
This year’s gala is co-chaired by Tom Ford, Robert Rodriguez, Steven Spielberg and Kate Capshaw. Proceeds from the evening support the museum’s exhibitions, educational opportunities and public screenings.
