Tencent Video Reveals First Images Of ‘Warrior Cats’ Adaptation With Rodrigo Blaas Directing; A.C. Bradley On Board As Showrunner

Tencent Video has revealed the first creative materials from its upcoming Warrior Cats animated series, adapted from the best-selling book series and directed by Rodrigo Blaas with A.C. Bradley on board as showrunner.

The Chinese streamer held a fan event in Shenzhen where Blaas joined Zhou Wang, Head of Randong Studio Group and Vice President of Content Production of Tencent Video, to share animation and character designs, including a 3D Warrior Cats character model personally created by Blaas.

The model offered a first look at how cats from the popular book series, published by HarperCollins, are being interpreted for the screen. Tencent Video also screened footage of the series’ animated characters and environments, giving fans an early look at the visual direction of the adaptation.

Blass is known for his work on DreamWorks’ Trollhunters: Tales Of Arcadia and Disney’s Star Wars: Visions. Bradley was a writer on Trollhunters: Tales Of Arcadia and also a writer and producer on Disney+ series What If… and Ms. Marvel

The Warrior Cats series is being animated by Original Force on behalf of Tencent Video. It’s currently scheduled to premiere in 2028 on Tencent Video platforms across China and Southeast Asia.

The creative team is developing the series using the original Warrior Cats characters and storylines, with the first book arc, Warrior Cats: The Prophecies Begin, providing the foundation for the adaptation.
