Texas Tech begins work on flood forecasting system after July flooding tragedy




The National Wind Institute at Texas Tech University announced it installed two new mesonet stations near Hunt, Texas. The stations are located near Camp La Junta and M-Bar-M Ranch. This area experienced heavy rainfall in the early hours of July 4, which led to the devastating Kerr County floods.
