Trinity Rodman supports boyfriend Ben Shelton during hard-fought US Open win

Trinity Rodman’s luck rubbed off on Ben Shelton a bit on Monday as the U.S. women’s national team star cheered on her tennis player beau in the first round of the U.S. Open on Monday, with Shelton taking down Tallon Griekspoor in four sets. 

After Rodman helped her Washington Spirit pick up a win in a match against Bay FC in the NWSL yesterday, she made her way courtside on Monday to cheer on Shelton during his win. 

The soccer star, sporting a multi-colored shirt, was spotted excitedly cheering while sitting in Shelton’s box at Arthur Ashe Stadium, and she even threw up a peace sign and posed for a photo during the evening. 

The couple went public with their relationship in March 2025, and they’ve become the darling couple of the sports world. 

During an appearance on ESPN over the weekend, Rodman showed off her nails that featured a tennis ball, net and Shelton’s initials, “BS.” 

“I’m definitely going to be able to go to his first match and we’ll go from there, because I kind of don’t know [if I can attend] until a day or two before,” she told the Worldwide Leader. “I’ll be at the first match and then we’ll see.”

Shelton took down Griekspoor 1-6, 6-1, 7-6 (7), 6-2 to move on to the second round and will face Hubert Hurkacz. 

The former Florida Gator had to rebound after an ugly first set before turning things around in the second set. 

“Obviously a lot of credit to Tallon, he’s a difficult player to play,” Shelton said following the match. “He doesn’t give you a lot of rhythm. He has an attacking game style and I found things really difficult for the first set tonight.”

Shelton later added: “I found my rhythm at some point through the second set.”
