US Marine Dies After Training Incident in Japan

A U.S. Marine has died following a training incident at a military base in Japan, according to multiple reports.

The Marine died on Tuesday at Camp Schwab in northern Okinawa, the 3rd Marine Division said in a statement, according to Stars and Stripes and ABC News.

The Marine’s identity is being withheld until 24 hours after their family has been notified. An investigation into the incident is underway, the division said.

The military did not immediately provide further details about the circumstances surrounding the death.
