VMI Acquires Rights To ‘The Experiment’ Starring Famke Janssen
EXCLUSIVE: VMI has acquired world rights to The Experiment starring Famke Janssen (X-Men) and Rhona Mitra (Underworld: Rise of the Lycans).
The film takes place in the year 2080, as the world is recovering from a nuclear war, an elite special ops team led by Captain Ava Stone (Mitra) is tasked with a rescue mission in a top-secret military research facility. But what they find is more sinister than they could have imagined, and their rescue mission turns into a fight to stay alive.
The film was directed by Chee Keong Cheung and penned by Alistair Cave, Matthew Edwards, and Oliver Morran, based on a story by Cheung. Chee Keong Cheung, Ioanna Karavela (Redcon-1), and Andreas Roald (Triangle of Sadness) serve as Producers for the film. The film was shot at Rebellion Studios in Oxfordshire. VMI will introduce The Experiment to buyers at AFM.
The deal was negotiated by CEO Andre Relis and COO Jessica Russo of VMI and Chee Keong Cheung on behalf of Action Xtreme. Also serving as both Director of Photography and Executive Producer is Derek Rogers.
The cast also includes Stefanie Martini (Crooked House), Roxanne McKee (Game of Thrones), and Razaaq Adoti (Black Hawk Down).
