When will ‘Scary Movie 6’ be streaming on Paramount+? How to watch the latest ‘Scary Movie’ at home
For years, broad comedy has been something of a no-show on the box office charts. With superhero and action movies like Deadpool & Wolverine or family-friendly animation like Hoppers going for laughs with bigger budgets, the old-fashioned comedy-for-comedy’s-sake project has largely been relegated to streaming, where stars like Adam Sandler, Kevin Hart, and Melissa McCarthy (all big box office before the streaming turn of the late 2010s) now make many of their biggest films. This summer, however, comedy made a comeback, even if it had to be labeled Scary Movie to do so.
Scary Movie is actually the sixth installment in the franchise of the same name; after a long dormant period, it re-emerged with the same back-to-basics retitling that its inspiration Scream used for its fifth installment. Like that movie, Scary Movie 6 brings back multiple favorite characters from the earlier films, including Marlon Wayans as stoner Shorty (absent since Scary Movie 2), Anna Faris as Cindy Campbell (absent since Scary Movie 4), and Regina Hall as Brenda (ditto). They’re here to spoof recent horror revivals like Scream and Halloween, as well as other horror favorites like Sinners, Longlegs, and, uh… John Wick? Well, the Wayans Brothers have always had a weakness for parodying stuff they perceive as more popular than horror; there’s a hilariously dated riff on a Nike ad in Scary Movie 2.
Regardless, absence clearly made some hearts grow fonder: Scary Movie (the new one, not the 2000 original) is currently the only live-action comedy of 2026 to cross $100 million at the domestic box office, far more than last year’s biggest theatrical comedies (Anaconda, The Naked Gun, and One of Them Days). Following a successful box office run in June, it was available on premium VOD late last month. But now we finally know when it’s hitting a streaming service.

Where Will Scary Movie 6 Stream?
Though the original films were put out by Dimension, the genre arm of Miramax and later the Weinstein Company, just like the Scream movies, distribution rights for Scary Movie 6 landed with Paramount — appropriately enough, the current home of the Scream franchise as well. This means that the movie’s first stop on its subscription-streaming tour will be Paramount+.
When Will Scary Movie 6 Hit Paramount+?
Just as the recent Scream 7 arrived on Paramount+ almost exactly three months after its theatrical debut, Scary Movie 6 is officially hitting Paramount+ on Thursday, September 3, 2026.
What Time Will Scary Movie 6 Be Available?
It should be available at 12:01 AM Pacific, or 3:01 AM Eastern, in case you want to simulate the experience of a midnight show.
How Do You Subscribe to Paramount+?
Scary Movie 6 will continue to be available as a stand-alone rental or purchase (and will probably come down in price as it becomes a subscription-service fixture). But if you want to marathon all six of the movies plus some Screams, Paramount+ is probably your best bet.
Paramount+ offers two subscription plans, Essential and Premium. Right now, you can get started with a seven-day free trial on the Premium plan.
The ad-supported Essential plan typically costs $8.99/month, while the ad-free Premium plan (which comes with Showtime titles and live CBS) costs $13.99/month.
Scary Movie 6 premieres Thursday, September 3, 2026, on Paramount+.
