Who Is Alexander Zverev’s Girlfriend? Meet German TV Star Sophia Thomalla

German tennis star Alexander Zverev‘s girlfriend is Sophia Thomalla, a Cologne-based actress, model and television host who has been his partner since 2021. Thomalla, 36, is currently in London supporting Zverev at Wimbledon 2026, weeks after he won his first career Grand Slam title at the French Open.

The relationship has drawn renewed attention as Zverev, the No. 2 seed, chases a deep run at the All-England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club. Thomalla’s presence in his player box, along with her public messages of support, has put a spotlight on a partnership that has largely stayed out of the public eye compared with Zverev’s on-court profile.

On Friday, Zverev will go head-to-head with British outsider Arthur Fery for a spot in the Wimbledon final.

Who is Sophia Thomalla?

Thomalla was born Oct. 6, 1989, in East Berlin. She is the daughter of German actress Simone Thomalla and actor Andre Vetters, and she has built her own career as a model, actress and host of the German edition of the realit?” She has more than 1.4 million followers on Instagram.

Thomalla and Zverev marked their fifth anniversary in April 2026, around the time of Zverev’s 29th birthday. Thomalla shared a carousel of photos on Instagram, writing, “Happy Birthday my love. Thank you for these 5 THRILLING years,” according to her account. The couple has largely kept the relationship private, though they are frequently seen on each other’s social media pages.

Thomalla did not attend the French Open in person, citing her own professional commitments in Germany, but tracked the tournament from Cologne. After Zverev defeated Italy’s Flavio Cobolli in five sets on June 7 to win his first major title, Thomalla posted the ATP Tour’s victory announcement to her Instagram Stories with the caption “Er hat es!!!” German for “He did it!!!” She also shared a photo from a train with the message “Paris calling!!” before traveling to France to celebrate with Zverev.

The couple shares two dachshunds, Mischka and Buba. Mischka has a dedicated Instagram account with more than 32,000 followers that Thomalla has used to post messages on Zverev’s behalf during tournaments, including after his French Open semifinal win. The couple added Buba, a second dachshund, shortly after the French Open final, with Thomalla writing on Instagram, “Because one Dachshund is never enough.”

Thomalla also publicly backs the Alexander Zverev Foundation, which supports children and young adults with Type 1 diabetes. The foundation’s website states it partners with the Christustrager Bruderschaft organization on diabetes care efforts in Vanga, located roughly 350 kilometers east of the Democratic Republic of Congo’s capital.

Zverev is also a father to a daughter, Mayla, from a previous relationship with Brenda Patea. He has confirmed his role as Mayla’s father in past public statements and has said he manages his parenting responsibilities alongside his tennis career and relationship with Thomalla.

At Wimbledon, Zverev has advanced past Marcos Giron and faces Jiri Lehecka in the round of 16 on July 6. Speaking to reporters, Zverev said his French Open title has boosted his confidence heading into the grass-court major, where he has never advanced past the fourth round. “I think anybody would always sign up to come to Wimbledon as the French Open champion, right?” he said. “For me, I feel like this year for some reason the tournament is kind of just getting started.”

Thomalla and the couple’s two dogs have accompanied Zverev to London for the tournament. Her attendance marks a contrast from the French Open, where she stayed in Germany for work before flying to Paris only after Zverev’s win.
