Who is Michael Gledhill? Girlfriend’s son arrested for James Handy’s killing
The son of actor James Handy’s girlfriend has been arrested in connection with his killing, authorities said on Thursday.
Michael Gledhill, 44, was booked on suspicion of one count of murder, the Los Angeles Police Department said on Thursday.
Police said officers had responded to a radio call of “unknown trouble” in the 19200 block of Erwin Street in Tarzana, Los Angeles, around 9.30 a.m. on Wednesday. It came after a 911 caller said: “I am the son of man, I just killed the man of sin.”
When officers arrived at the scene, they found Handy, 81, in the front yard “unconscious and suffering from a stab wound to his chest.” He was taken to the hospital and later pronounced dead, police said.
Gledhill had flagged down responding officers, telling them that he “was the one they were looking for,” the release said. He was later arrested and transported to Van Nuys Jail, and his bail was set at $2 million.
Gledhill lives at the home with his mother, police said.
Handy was known for films including Arachnophobia, Jumanji and Top Gun: Maverick.
