Who Plays Harrison In ‘Dutton Ranch’?
We’re seven episodes into Dutton Ranch, but the hit Yellowstone spin-off is still introducing new characters and a new love interest for someone who I wrongfully assumed was already happily dating someone!
In terms of fresh faces, Dutton Ranch has already introduced viewers to Dwight White (Ray McKinnon), businessman Zane Nash (Marlon Young), and younger versions of present-day characters in 1981 flashbacks (like young Beulah, played by Rebeca Robles). But Episode 7, “Den of Sin,” also threw a wrench in Carter (Finn Little) and Oreana’s (Natalie Alyn Lind) relationship — er, I mean, situationship — by introducing a man named Harrison Williams.
So who is Harrison Williams on Dutton Ranch? And what do we know about Matthew Erick White, the actor who plays Harrison on Dutton Ranch? Here’s everything we know about the spin-off’s unexpected new character.
Dutton Ranch Episode 7 spoilers ahead.
Who Is Harrison Williams In Dutton Ranch?
We first meet Harrison Williams at Beulah’s big 190th anniversary bash for the 10-Petal. Carter arrives, excited to reunite with Oreana after their Episode 6 fishing trip when he told her he loved her, but when he finds her at the party she’s busy laughing with the handsome, preppy Harrison. And it quickly becomes clear that the two have history.
“You wouldn’t have graduated if it weren’t for me. That finance class…” Harrison reminds Oreana. “That class nearly fucking killed me. It would have, if you didn’t let me get your notes,” she replies. As Carter approaches, Harrison says, “Seemed like a pretty fair trade to me,” implying that he and Oreana hooked up in the past. And she replies, “Shh! Fuck off, smarty!” confirming their solid chemistry and flirty banter.

When Harrison notices Carter hovering, he says hello and introduces himself. Oreana introduces Carter as her “friend” and when Carter reveals he used to be student, Harrison laughs disapprovingly. Oreana suggests Carter gets himself a drink and quickly ushers him away. When he takes the hint, she dives right back into giggly banter with Harrison about his rich father, and Carter starts brooding.
While this is the first time we’re meeting the character, it’s clear the Williams family is Known in Rio Paloma. Sheriff Wade approaches Carter at the bar and advises, “I wouldn’t take a swing at Harrison Williams tonight, son. That’d be bad business for the both of us.” When Carter claims he’d kick Harrison’s ass, Wade laughs and attempts to pass along some wisdom. But later on, when Carter and Oreana clash and she calls Harrison “a bull, he’s not a steer,” revealing they’d slept together before, Carter is devastated and drinks his sorrows away. Will Harrison be back after Episode 7? We’ll have to wait and see, but here’s what to know about Matthew Erick White, the actor who plays Harrison.
