Who Was Igho Ubiribo? British-Nigerian Influencer Dies After Botched Surgery to Enlarge His Manhood in Thailand

A British-Nigerian influencer died after undergoing a botched penis enlargement procedure in Thailand, according to a UK coroner’s report. Igho “Tiny” Ubiribo, 43, was on vacation in Bangkok with his wife, Daniella Simba Allen, when he underwent the procedure on March 5 this year.

The happy couple later went for a massage, but Ubiribo soon began experiencing massive chest pain and repeatedly lost consciousness. He was eventually rushed to Sukhumvit Hospital for treatment, according to TMZ. The British-Nigerian influencer was reportedly still suffering serious complications following the penis enlargement procedure when he was taken to the hospital, where doctors tried to save his life after his sudden and alarming deterioration.

Surgery Turns Death Trap

At the hospital, Ubiribo struggled to answer questions coherently. He ultimately died from a pulmonary embolism before doctors could perform a CT scan to determine the cause of his condition.

TMZ reported that doctors performed CPR on Ubiribo for more than 100 minutes as they fought to save his life. A UK coroner’s postmortem later found that the hyaluronic acid and lidocaine used during the procedure had caused the fatal pulmonary embolism.

Ubiribo had built a sizable following on Instagram, with around 185,000 followers, where he was known for showcasing an extravagant lifestyle. His social media presence offered glimpses into the wealth and luxury he had accumulated over the years.

He owned a $1.1 million house in Los Angeles’ Crenshaw neighborhood, as well as a London apartment valued at about $600,000.

The properties reflected the affluent lifestyle Ubiribo had become associated with online, where he regularly shared content highlighting his travels, possessions and personal life.

Community Shocked

His death has since drawn attention to the serious risks and potential complications associated with cosmetic procedures performed abroad and other elective cosmetic medical treatments.

Ubiribo and Allen tied the knot in 2022, celebrating their marriage with an elaborate ceremony in Zimbabwe surrounded by family and friends.

After his death, Ubiribo was laid to rest in London in an extravagant gold coffin reportedly costing more than $745,000. The lavish funeral reflected the opulent lifestyle he had become known for during his lifetime.

Hyaluronic acid penile fillers can be a costly cosmetic treatment, with prices reaching as much as $9,000. The effects are generally temporary, typically lasting between six and nine months before another treatment may be needed.

The procedure has also drawn attention because of the serious complication cited in Ubiribo’s case.
