Who Was Ousman Ceesay? Tucson gay bar shooting suspect had LGBT venues list

A shooting at a gay bar in Tucson, Arizona, is being investigated as a hate crime after it emerged the suspect was carrying a note that listed several LGBTQIA+ associated businesses, authorities said.

The suspect, identified as Ousman Ceesay, 44, shot two people in the parking lot of Venture-N shortly after 12:30 a.m. on Monday, the Tucson Police Department said in a news release.

Officers who responded to the shooting found all three men with gunshot wounds. The victims, identified as Vincent Anthony Siqueiros, 42, and Cameron Davis Capara, 33, both died at the scene, police said.

Ceesay was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival, according to the department.

Police said initial evidence suggests Ceesay had confronted the victims in the parking lot before shooting them.

There is no known active threat to the community, police said. But the department said it has increased its police presence around other LGBTQIA+ businesses in the area.

The investigation is ongoing.
