Why Is CORTIS’ First-Ever Concert Facing Backlash? Fans Criticize Repeated Songs, Short Setlist [WATCH]
Rookie K-pop boy group CORTIS has come under scrutiny following their first-ever concert, with fans expressing disappointment over the show’s structure and setlist.
While many were excited to see the group take the stage for their debut concert, discussions quickly shifted online after the setlist was shared on Korean community forums. Fans questioned the repeated performances of several songs and the overall format of the event, with some arguing that it fell short of expectations for a full-scale concert.
According to the setlist circulating online, CORTIS performed tracks including ‘YOUNGCREATORCREW’, ‘FaSHION’, ‘REDRED’, ‘Acai’, ‘TNT’, ‘Mention me’, ‘Joyride’, ‘Lullaby’, ‘Blue Lips’, ‘Wass up’, ‘GO’ and ‘What you want’.
Repeated Songs Become Biggest Talking Point
However, fans were surprised to learn that several songs were performed more than once. During the encore, ‘REDRED’, ‘YOUNGCREATORCREW’, and ‘Mention me’ were reportedly repeated despite already being included in the main setlist.
The repeated performances quickly became a major topic of discussion across social media and Korean online communities.
Fans Expected More Variety
The concert reportedly ran for approximately one hour and 40 minutes, but attendees also noted the absence of outfit changes and cover stages.
One user said, “The time it took me to get here from home was longer than the actual concert. What are they even doing right now?”, while another wrote, “No, what the f*ck are you talking about..? So you’re saying CORTIS’ first concert really ended after only 1 hour and 40 minutes, they didn’t even change outfits, there were obviously no cover stages, and during the encore they picked two songs and performed those same two songs 18,284 times before disappearing? Is that actually real?”
Many fans pointed out that rookie groups with limited original music often include cover performances to create a more varied concert experience. Since CORTIS has released only 12 songs to date, some believed additional stages would have helped round out the show.
The lack of those elements led some Korean netizens to question whether the event felt more like a fan concert than a traditional concert.
Fans Divided Over the Criticism
The concert has sparked mixed reactions among fans.
While some criticized the repeated songs and unconventional setlist, others defended the group, arguing that CORTIS is still in the early stages of its career and has a relatively small discography compared to more established K-pop acts.
One netizen commented, “They performed the same song five times and four times? I honestly can’t believe it.”
Another wrote, “This is the first concert I’ve seen where they performed the same song again and again. Is everyone doing this these days?”
A third one said, “They didn’t even do any cover performances? Rookie groups usually fill the setlist with cover stages,” meanwhile another one shared, “Isn’t this supposed to be a fan concert…?”
“They didn’t even do any cover performances? Rookie groups usually fill the setlist with cover stages,” another user posted after the CORTIS concert.
The group’s first concert has continued to generate discussion online, with many fans debating whether future shows should feature a broader range of performances as CORTIS expands its catalog.
