Nick Lachey Shares Rare Insight Into “Unexpected” Newlyweds Show With Ex Jessica Simpson
Vanessa Lachey and Nick Lachey are blind to one part of reality TV production.
The Love Is Blind cohosts—who tied the knot 14 years ago—revealed that they are no longer allowed to be on set when couples from the Netflix show leave the pods and come face to face for the first time.
“We all used to be at the reveal,” Vanessa told Parade in a video published Oct. 8. “So when they would come out on the red carpet, it was me, it was Nick, we had like the glam girls there, we had costume design, we had audio. We had everybody standing there.”
However, having what she estimated to be “probably 50 people” behind the camera during contestants’ big moments wound up being too much of a distraction.
“It got to a point where it got too loud,” Vanessa explained, imitating the gasps the crew would let out when newly engaged couples walked through the doors and down the carpet. “[The camera crew] were like, ‘Shh!'”
And the 44-year-old shared that she and Nick have been banned from watching reveals since the show’s first installment.
