Witney Carson Pregnant With Baby No. 3: Meet Her Husband, Children and DWTS Partner
Witney Carson is pregnant with her third child, the professional dancer confirmed during a live television appearance on Aug. 17. Carson, 32, also revealed she will compete this season despite her pregnancy, a first for a professional dancer on the long-running ballroom competition series.
Carson said she is entering her second trimester and called it the furthest along she has ever been while still training and performing. She said the decision to compete while pregnant reflects both her love of the show and her responsibility to provide for her family. Carson added that she hopes the choice will go smoothly and inspire other working mothers.
Her celebrity partner for the season is Guillermo Rodriguez, best known as Jimmy Kimmel‘s longtime sidekick on late-night television. Rodriguez was previously confirmed as part of the new season’s celebrity cast, alongside three other contestants announced earlier this month.
Carson is married to Carson McAllister; the two are high school sweethearts who wed in January 2016. They share two sons, Kevin Leo, born in January 2021, and Jet, born in May 2023. Carson first announced she was expecting Jet during the Season 31 semifinals in 2022, but this marks the first time she has entered a new season already pregnant rather than announcing mid-competition.
Carson is a veteran pro on the series and is the reigning Mirrorball champion, having won her most recent season with a celebrity partner. Her pregnancy announcement followed several days of teasers on social media, where she promised fans multiple major reveals tied to her season return.
Carson’s announcement is notable because no professional dancer has previously started a season of the competition series already pregnant. Past instances of pregnancy on the show, including Carson’s own second pregnancy, were revealed mid-season. Her decision puts a spotlight on working mothers balancing physically demanding careers with pregnancy, a topic Carson has spoken about directly, noting that competing is central to both her passion and her family’s livelihood.
The news also affects season planning, since choreography, rehearsal schedules and partner pairings must now account for Carson’s pregnancy throughout the competition.
The new season is set to premiere with a two-night event in mid-September, airing on network television and available for streaming the next day. The full celebrity cast has not yet been completely revealed; only four contestants, including Rodriguez, were confirmed as of Carson’s announcement. The remaining cast is expected to be revealed in early September.
Carson has not disclosed her due date or the sex of her third child. She indicated more details about her pregnancy and season plans would be shared in the coming weeks as the show approaches its premiere.
