Woman found dead in Bronx apartment building on Friday — authorities investigating as possible homicide


A woman was found dead in a Bronx apartment on Friday afternoon — and authorities are eyeing her mentally ill son as a possible homicide suspect, according to sources.

Josefa Guzman-DeCarmen, 57, was found unconscious by first responders inside her apartment at 1236 Grand Concourse with trauma to her head and torso.

Her death is being investigated as a homicide.

Sources told The Post that Guzman-DeCarmen’s mentally disturbed 33-year-old son is considered a person of interest in the investigation.

She was declared dead at the scene.

No arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing.
