‘Your Friends and Neighbors’ creator reveals his plan with Jon Hamm for the show’s future
Call the neighborhood watch.
“Your Friends and Neighbors” creator Jonathan Tropper says he and star Jon Hamm would “love” to continue the show past three seasons — but only if a continuation of the story makes sense.
“We’re determined to only make [more seasons] if we feel we can continue evolving the show – so it doesn’t feel like the same same show, over and over again,” Tropper exclusively told Page Six.
The writer added that he and Hamm have been discussing plans as they film Season 3.
Tropper, whose new Apple TV show show “Lucky” is out now, explains “Your Friends and Neighbors” definitely has the “runway” and the “opportunity” to make more seasons.
Two seasons of the show has aired to date, and Season 2 recently scored the show’s first Emmy nomination for Best Drama Series
“I think our first three seasons have a really nice arc to them,” Tropper told Page Six.
He added, they would “love” to do more and they’re working on figuring out a way to do it that won’t “feel repetitive.”
“Your Friends and Neighbors” Season 1 premiered in April 2025, and Season 2 premiered the following April.
The show stars Hamm as Andrew “Coop” Cooper, a former financier who resorts to stealing from his wealthy neighbors after losing his job, to keep his family in the lavish lifestyle they’ve grown accustomed to.
The cast also includes Olivia Munn and Amanda Peet. James Marsden joined in Season 2 as a hard-partying new frenemy for Coop.
During an April interview, Marsden told The Post that when he landed the role, the “Mad Men” star told him, “I just hope you have the best time” and, “I think I’m kind of jealous of your part.’”
Marsden and Hamm had been friends for a years, he explained, but Season 2 was their first time working together.
“[Hamm] was always a good hang. I would just come find him [at Hollywood events] and we’d have a drink and good chat,” the “Jury Duty” actor told The Post, adding that Hamm is a “very funny guy,” with a “sharp sense of humor.”
Apple TV hasn’t announced a premiere date for “Your Friends and Neighbors” Season 3, yet.
