Diddy’s Prison Head Injury Mystery: Feds Deny Fight With Druglord Was Cause

A dust-up with a drug lord was not what sent Sean Combs to the hospital with a head injury last week, insists the Bureau of Prisons. However, the actual cause of the injury and Combs’ current status is under lock and key.

“While, for privacy, safety, and security reasons, we do not comment on the conditions of confinement for any individual in our custody, we can tell you that the story you are referring to is false and did not happen, officials at FCI Fort Dix in New Jersey say of reports by TMZ and others that Diddy got in a fight on October 9 with fellow inmate Christopher “Dudus” Coke over the spotlight and cell sweeps a recent NBC News expose on Combs’ contraband and high living had brought down on the minimum security facility and its over 4,200 residents.

Coke may not have been involved, but clearly something went down, because Combs was taken to a local hospital early on October 10 with something wrong with his noggin. He retuned to Ft. Dix about 12 hours later, without stitches or noticible treatment, I’m told. Since then, the whole situation has gone on lockdown, literally and figuratively.

Convicted of two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution by a NYC jury in July 2025 at the end of lurid and violence detailing trial, Combs was sentenced in September 2025 to a 50-month stint with time served.

With a release date that has gone back and forth since, Diddy is current scheduled to be released on March 2, 2028.

It is extremely rare for the BoP to reveal anything about a prisoner, not matter how high-profile they are. Yet, in the Combs case and leaks about what went down last week, it seems some information or misinformation was allegedly coming from inside Ft. Dix and officials felt compelled to address the matter. The BoP added today: “Sean Combs is in the custody of the Federal Bureau of Prisons and is incarcerated at the Federal Correctional Institution Fort Dix. Beyond this, we have no additional information to provide.”

In fact, even those close to Combs have little information, I’ve learned.

“We appreciate the BOP’s clarification, which confirms our concerns about the accuracy of the initial reports,” Combs spokesperson Juda Engelmayer told Deadline Thursday. “We have not independently verified the circumstances surrounding the alleged incident, and I don’t want to speculate about what may or may not have happened. At this point, we have no verified information indicating that Sean was attacked by Christopher Coke or anyone else, or that he sustained injuries.”

Combs has been in solitary confinement since images of him on a smuggled in smartphone and other luxuries were made public. Stuck in the SHU (Special Housing Unit), as its termed, Combs has very limited communication with the outside world.

That communication is limited by design, and by choice it seems.

Over the past week, Diddy has not used the daily call he is permitted to touch base with his attorneys. Nor has he contacted other reps from solitary. Because 56-year-old Combs is over 18, the Bureau of Prisons is not required to pass along any info to anyone about him. To put it simply, if Combs wants someone, anyone to know what’s going on, it’s his call to make.

The Bad Boy Records founder has not been making that call.

The mitigating factor may be when he is released from the SHU. Unless there is another incident, Combs will be in solitary confinement for at least one more week, sources say.

In the free world, and having failed to secure a pardon from old party pal Donald Trump, Combs is pursuing a fast-track appeal of his case. At the same time, the much accused multiple Grammy winning is battling multiple civil suits and a possible sexual battery indictment by the L.A. District Attorney.

After a trial in the summer of 2025, the Southern District of New York’s U.S. Attorney’s Office fell far short in its efforts to convince a Manhattan jury Combs was guilty of racketeering conspiracy and sex trafficking charges. If Combs had been found guilty in the trial full of filmed sex parties and freak-offs, Cassie Ventura beatings, drug binges, threats, exploding cars and allegedly hanging people off balconies, the one-time mini mogul could have received a life sentence.
